A major milestone for Derwent London, the scheme is set to redefine sustainable commercial space. The nine-story development delivers high-quality offices and retails while targeting industry-leasing reduction in embodied carbon.

Global Oral Health Innovation Hub
Haleon

A state-of-the-art £130m global Oral Health Innovation hub in Weybridge, Surrey.

Recognised by the UK Government through its International Investment Summit, the four-storey facility is poised to become a global hub for oral health life sciences research and innovation. It will feature GMP licensing and an ISO 8 standard cleanroom.

A major 110,000 sq ft mixed-use redevelopment on Tottenham Court Road, delivering high-quality Grade A office space, retail and residential units close to Oxford Street.

The scheme includes significant office, retail and residential space, and targets some of the best environmental and wellbeing accreditations (e.g., NABERS 5 Stars, BREEAM Outstanding, Platinum WELL), positioning it as a benchmark sustainable development in Central London.

We’re really pleased with the quality and end product, developed around modern occupier needs, blending contemporary aesthetics with wellbeing, and sustainable design and procurement. The Peikko Delta Beam system was a key sustainable innovation which helped reduce the project’s carbon footprint, programme, and costs.

Delivering offsite fabrication of key elements like risers—reducing labour, resources, and complexity in a busy town centre build.

The new hub will host more than 1,600 civil servants from departments including HM Treasury, the Office for National Statistics (ONS), and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

An award-winning contemporary interpretation of the classic London mansion block, delivering private and affordable homes, shops, restaurants and a community hall, centred around a dramatic glass-roofed atrium and landscaped courtyard that flood the building with light and air.

This project is a flagship development for us, a true statement building. It’s been a long time in the making, but the outcome is incredible. The build quality is unparalleled, and the design by E8 Architecture is exceptionally high.

North East Technology Park (NETPark)
Durham County Council

A £61m expansion supporting Durham County Council’s ambition to establish NETPark as a global hub for science, technology, and engineering.
The development will deliver up to 232,000 sq ft of flexible laboratory, office, production, and storage space across an initial 7 hectares, expanding to 16 hectares. Kier will design and build bespoke facilities alongside walking and cycling routes and shared breakout spaces.
The project will drive economic growth, create local jobs and training opportunities, and reinforce the North East’s position as a leading centre for innovation, demonstrating Kier’s long-term commitment to the region.

It is really exciting to have started work on the third phase of NETPark and to have appointed Kier to deliver the project. We are delighted to be making a significant investment in the expansion and grateful to the North East Local Enterprise Partnership for its support, which is in recognition of the fantastic employment opportunities that NETPark presents our region.

The prospect of the further 1,250 skilled jobs worth £625m, and the potential for NETPark to ultimately host 3,000-4,000 jobs, is proof that we are delivering on our ambition to create more and better jobs for our residents, as set out in our Inclusive Economic Strategy.

Decarbonising the future

How can we meet London's development needs in a low carbon way?

The UK's carbon reduction targets are looming, and pressures from planning authorities are mounting on developers to deliver truly sustainable projects. But do we know what good looks like? And if so, do we have the skills, techniques, and models to deliver it?

Kier is at the forefront of tackling carbon demands on behalf of our clients. Last year we were joined by industry leaders to confront the carbon challenge — where we discussed the importance of balancing delivery pace, sustainability, and practical pathways to net zero.

There’s an increasing need for conversations and collective thinking on how we deliver developments in a low carbon way for our clients. We’re also seeing this reflected in what the local planning teams are challenging us with.
